Bangladesh head coach Javier Cabrera has opted to leave out Canada-based midfielder Shamit Shome from the starting lineup for tonight’s international friendly against Nepal. Shome, who arrived in Dhaka late after a long journey, had only one training session with the team — a key reason behind his omission from the first XI.
Bashundhara Kings midfielder Cuba Mitchell has also been left out of the matchday squad. However, Leicester City star Hamza Choudhury and young defender Zayan Ahmed both start for the men in red and green.
Cabrera is expected to use this game to experiment ahead of the crucial AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against India on November 18. The Spanish coach has already confirmed plans to rotate and test several players, with six substitutions likely throughout the match.
The friendly against Nepal kicks off at 8 PM (BST) at the National Stadium in Dhaka.
Meanwhile, attendance was relatively low early on, with many seats still empty as spectators continued to enter during the first half.
