The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Governing Council has confirmed the five franchises that will feature in the upcoming edition of the country’s premier T20 tournament.
According to a media release published on Thursday, following the completion of the registration and evaluation process, five teams have been approved to participate: Dhaka Capitals, Chattogram Royals, Rajshahi Warriors, Rangpur Riders, and Sylhet Titans.
BPL Governing Council member secretary Iftekhar Rahman Mithu announced in a press conference on Thursday that five franchises had been finalized for the season.
Out of eleven interested parties, the five selected franchises were chosen based on financial capability and organizational integrity. The ownership groups are: Toggy Sports (Rangpur), Triangle Services (Chattogram), Champion Sports (Dhaka), Nabil Group (Rajshahi), and Cricket with Sami (Sylhet).
The upcoming BPL season is scheduled to run from December 19 to January 16.
