Bangladesh Bank seeks help to trace official missing since Sunday

A Bangladesh Bank (BB) official has been missing since Sunday, prompting his family and colleagues to seek public assistance in locating him.

Nayeem Rahman, a deputy director at BB and a member of the Assistant Director Batch 19, came to the office on Sunday, November 9.

He went missing after 12:00pm, leaving behind his office bag and ID card, according to a BB statement.

Mobile tracking data showed his last known location in Dhaka's Sayedabad area at 12:53pm, when he sent a message to a batchmate.

It appears from the message that he was "highly depressed for some reasons," said BB in the statement.

Nayeem is the only son of his family.

A general diary has been filed with Mirpur Police Station in Dhaka, and law enforcement agencies are investigating the matter and attempting to trace his whereabouts, BB said, urging anyone with information about his location to contact the nearest police station or any BB official.
