Gopalganj district administration today (17 July) announced a curfew until 6pm tomorrow, extending the 22-hour period until further notice.
According to a statement from the Gopalganj district magistrate, curfew will remain in effect from 6pm today until 12pm tomorrow (18 July), and will resume again from 2pm to 6pm on the same day.
The curfew will be temporarily lifted between 12pm and 2pm to allow residents access to essential services.
The move comes after the city was met with deadly clashes following the NCP's "March to Gopalganj", which left four people dead and scores injured.
