A three-day agricultural fair has begun in Pakundia upazila of the district.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Billal Hossain inaugurated the fair at Eidgah ground of the municipal headquarters this morning.
The fair was organized by the Upazila Administration and Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) under the Greater Mymensingh Region Crop Intensification Project.
Upazila agriculture officer Krishibid Noor-e-Alam, upazila education officer Dr. Daulat Hossain Bhuiyan and principal of Katiadi Fekamara Fazil Madrasa Maulana Abul Kashem Biplob were present, among others.
Saplings of various fruits, medicinal plants, forest and flower trees have been displayed in 11 stalls at the fair.
Upazila agriculture officer Nur-e-Alam said like every year, we have organized an agricultural fair on a large scale this time too.
"We have kept an open tree identification quiz competition as a special attraction. Along with school and college students, people of all ages are also participating enthusiastically in the competition."
