A three-day national fruit fair has begun in Joypurhat to strengthen nutrition and food security. Organized by the District Agricultural Extension Khamarbari Joypurhat, the fair was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Afroz Akhter Chowdhury on Thursday morning, June 19, at the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises.
The inaugural meeting held at the Upazila Parishad Hall was presided over by Deputy Director of the District Agricultural Extension Department, Agriculturist Rahela Parvin.
Deputy Director of Jamalganj Horticulture Center, Agriculturist Mojibar Rahman, District Fisheries Officer Masud Rana, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Rashedul Islam, Agriculture Officer Rafsia Jahan, Additional Agriculture Officer Masud Parvez and Plant Conservation Deputy Assistant Officer Amal Chandra Mondal spoke at the inaugural meeting.
The three-day fruit fair showcases various locally grown seasonal fruits through stalls.
