Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Dinajpur’s Fulbari and Nawabganj upazilas on Tuesday.
The dead have been identified as Saju Islam, 32, son of Anwarul Islam, Motaleb Hossain, 33, both residents of Jagannathpur Rampur village in Kaharol upazila, and a Alom Mia, 28, from Chandipur Prodanpara village in Parbatipur upazila.
According to Fulbari Police Station Officer-in-Charge AKM Khondaker Mohibbul, a motorcycle was heading toward Fulbari from Dinajpur town amid light rain. On the way, it collided head-on with a pick-up van coming from the opposite direction. Motaleb Hossain died on the spot, while the motorcycle rider, Saju Islam, succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
On the other hand around 1:00 AM, a head-on collision between two trucks occurred near the eastern side of Bhadduria-Bajitpur Bridge in Nawabganj upazila. One of the truck drivers Alom Mia died at the scene.
Nawabganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Matin said that legal action is being taken in connection with the accident.
