Dinajpur's Hili Land Port will remain closed for nine days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, according to port sources.
However, passenger movement through the Hili immigration check post will stay open as usual.
Nazmul Haque, General Secretary of the Hili Land Port Import-Export Group, today said import and export activities between Bangladesh and India through the port will be suspended from Saturday, March 29, to Saturday, April 5, in observance of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
Trade operations will resume on Sunday, April 6, he added.
Meanwhile, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hili Immigration Ariful Islam confirmed that despite the closure of trade activities through the Hili Land Port, passport holders from both countries will be able to travel through the immigration check post.
