'The world has seen the determination of a young man who never gives up/ He wrote the story of conquering the sky in the sky of Bengal/This flying is the stage of conquering his dream.' These lines are written about Julhas Molla (28), a young man from a secluded village in Manikganj.

An electrical engineer named Julhas Molla surprised everyone by building an 'Ultra Light (RC)' model plane, though he never flown in a plane in his life. Under the guidance of Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of BNP and the main sponsor of 'Amra BNP Paribas', a delegation of 'Amra BNP Paribar' met Julhas Molla, a young man who built a plane in his village. Atiqur Rahman Rumon said, “The acting chairman of BNP said that if he gets the opportunity to run the state in the future, BNP will be by his side in taking appropriate steps to provide government incentives and support to Julhas Mollah in his work.”

In addition, Atiqur Rahman Rumon said, Julhas Mollah will be encouraged by giving him a ticket on any flight within the country and today, we have provided him with some financial assistance on behalf of Mr. Tarique Rahman.

It is worth noting that Julhas Rahman Mollah (28) is the son of farmer Jalil Mollah of Bilpara village in Teota union of Shibaloy. Julhas, the fifth of six brothers and two sisters, completed his SSC from Jionpur BKS High School but could not pursue further education due to financial constraints. An electrician by profession, he works on a contract basis in various institutions in Dhaka and spent his weekly holidays building the aircraft.

According to Julhas, he conducted three years of research and spent another year constructing the aircraft, with a total cost of around Tk 8 lakh. The structure is made of aluminium and iron, and it is powered by a seven-horsepower water pump engine. He said the aircraft was built primarily for experimental training rather than commercial purposes. However, with government funding and sponsorship, commercial production could be possible. The aircraft can reach an altitude of over 50 feet.
