A man has gone into hiding after his wife and sister-in-law were found dead in Dhojonagar village under Gopinathpur union of Brahmanbaria's Kasba upazila late last night.
The deceased were identified as Juthi Akter, 20, and her younger sister Tithi Akter, 14, daughters of Rowshan Ali from the same village, said Mohammad Abdul Kader, officer-in-charge of Kasba Police Station.
Juthi had been married for one and a half years to Amir Hossain of Jamtoli village in Cumilla's Brahmanpara upazila.
Police recovered the bodies at around 11:00am today after being informed by locals.
Mohammad Yunus Pathan, a former union parishad member, said they found the sisters lying lifeless on a bed. With no visible injury marks, it is suspected that they were strangled to death.
Locals reported that the killings took place after 1:00am.
No case has been filed in this regard. The husband, Amir, has been on the run since the incident, the OC said.
