Collected Photo Islamic University (IU) has appointed new directors and an administrator to four key administrative positions. The appointments were announced in four separate office orders issued on Sunday (October 18) and signed by Registrar (In-Charge) Prof. Dr. Atiqur Rahman. The appointments took effect immediately.
According to the office orders, Prof. Dr. Zahidul Islam of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been appointed director of the ICT Cell, while Prof. Dr. Monjur Rahman of the Department of Bangla has been appointed director of the Teacher-Student Cultural Centre (TSCC).
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Gazi Md. Mahbub Murshid of the Department of Bangla has been appointed press administrator, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ruhul Amin Bhuiyan of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) has been appointed director of the Central Laboratory.
According to the orders, the appointments to the TSCC, ICT Cell, and Press Administration will remain effective for one year, while the director of the Central Laboratory will serve until further notice.
Newly appointed Press Administrator Prof. Dr. Gazi Md. Mahbub Murshid said, “The university authorities have entrusted me with this responsibility. After assessing the overall situation, I will carry out my duties in a planned and systematic manner.”
Prof. Dr. Zahidul Islam, the newly appointed director of the ICT Cell, said, “The ICT Cell is a vital office of the university. Teachers and students have high expectations of the cell in ensuring digital services. Although there are several challenges following my assumption of office, my primary goal will be to bring all university services under an integrated digital platform by implementing the Islamic University ERP System.”
“To achieve this objective, I seek the cooperation of all teachers, students, officers, and employees of the university,” he added.
