Collected PhotoKylian Mbappé scored twice, including a superb solo goal, as Real Madrid cruised to a 4–1 victory over Sevilla on Sunday to move up to third in La Liga.
Arda Güler opened the scoring with a spectacular strike before Mbappé added two goals, one from the penalty spot. Yan Diomande completed the scoring with a powerful effort from outside the box, while Manu Bueno netted Sevilla’s only goal.
Mbappé’s first goal was a moment of individual brilliance. He spun past defenders with a roulette turn before rounding the goalkeeper and finishing calmly. His second came from a Panenka-style penalty, delicately chipped into the net.
The victory leaves Real Madrid six points behind league leaders Barcelona ahead of next weekend’s El Clásico at Camp Nou. Atlético Madrid occupy second place.
“We played a great game. We are a team, and we are working to improve. We have only been together for a short time,” coach José Mourinho told Real Madrid TV.
“It is difficult to have the calm that other coaches enjoy at other clubs, given the scale of Real Madrid, but we are making the most of every minute we have,” he added.
