
A career event connecting Bangladeshi students with eight Japanese technology companies was held at the University of Dhaka (DU), offering opportunities to explore internships, career development and future career opportunities in Japan.
The Global South–Japan Tech Talent Internship (GS-JTI) On-Campus Career Event was held on October 5, 2026, at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium of DU.
The initiative is promoted by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), with Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support and Koei Research & Consulting supporting the GS-JTI Secretariat.
DU Faculty of Engineering and Technology Dean Prof. Dr. Upama Kabir delivered the welcome remarks. GS-JTI Secretariat representative Tatsuya Yamada introduced the programme and the appeal of working in Japan, while Prof. Dr. Md. Mamun-Or-Rashid of DU’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering delivered the vote of thanks.
Eight Japanese companies—Adora Inc., A-one Road Co., Ltd., Aster Co., Ltd., AWL, Inc., CAPER, Inc., Green Carbon Inc., Japan Superconductivity Application Development (JSA), and Noahlogy Co., Ltd.—participated in the event.
The companies operate in areas including artificial intelligence, online child safety, advanced manufacturing, disaster resilience, edge AI and computer vision, large language model platforms, sustainability, superconducting technologies and AI for shipbuilding.
Speakers said such initiatives can strengthen industry-academia collaboration, help students understand current technology-sector demands and create opportunities for internships, professional development and future career pathways.
