Those who were left out of the appointment process for government primary schools will receive their appointment letters by October 1, said Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon.
He said 817 candidates are still awaiting appointments.
The minister made the remarks at a meeting of the National Steering Committee at the Education Ministry’s conference room at the Secretariat on Monday. The meeting was held as part of preparations for celebrating World Teachers’ Day.
“Currently, 817 candidates are awaiting appointments in the primary education sector. They will receive their appointments by October 1. We will continue working with those who do not receive appointments,” the minister said.
He said nearly 1.069 million candidates had taken part in the recruitment examination conducted during the interim government’s tenure.
“We started working to ensure that the recruitment process was properly maintained. We received final applications from 854 candidates under 33 categories. The DPEO issues the appointment letters,” he said.
According to the minister, the verification process found that some candidates had changed their addresses, while others were still completing the necessary verification procedures.
“The verification process is being carried out in phases, and candidates are submitting their updated addresses accordingly,” he said.
The minister added that cases where the process had not yet been completed were being monitored and reviewed. The process will continue until October 1.
