Collected PhotoEight more people have died with measles-like symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, raising the combined death toll from confirmed measles and suspected cases to 1,030 this year.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) health bulletin issued on Monday (September 14), 100 people have died from confirmed measles, while another 930 deaths have been reported among patients with measles-like symptoms.
Four of the eight deaths reported in the latest 24-hour period occurred in Dhaka. During the same period, 1,232 new patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country.
Dhaka Division recorded the highest number of new admissions with 524, followed by Chattogram with 278, Sylhet 150, Barishal 131, Khulna 88, Mymensingh 57, Rajshahi 23 and Rangpur 26.
