A target of Tk 1,208 crore 45 lakh 15 thousand 738 has been set for land development tax collection in the 2026-27 fiscal year, Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu said.He gave the information in response to a starred question from Abul Khair Bhuiyan, a ruling party MP from Lakshmipur-2, in the National Parliament on Sunday.
The minister said land development tax collection was reviewed every month at the division, district and upazila levels through revenue conferences, based on the set targets.
He said the Land Reforms Board sent a letter to all divisional commissioners on July 16, asking them to issue necessary instructions to district administrators to accelerate tax collection in the 2026-27 fiscal year.
A day-long training programme was held recently to identify measures to simplify modern land management and increase land revenue collection, he said.
The minister said field-level supervision was being conducted regularly, while necessary guidelines were being provided to relevant officials to boost land development tax collection.
