File PhotoFormer Inspector General of Police (IGP) and former member of the Bangladesh Law Commission Dr M Enamul Haque passed away on Sunday (August 30).

The BNP Media Cell confirmed his death in a post on their official Facebook page.
"He was the eldest paternal uncle of the Prime Minister's Advisor Rehan Asif Asad. We pray for the forgiveness of his departed soul and express our deepest condolences to the bereaved family," the post stated.
Enamul Haque completed his bachelor's degree in History from Rajshahi University and earned his LLB degree from Dhaka University. Later, he obtained his PhD from the University of New Orleans.
During his distinguished career, Enamul Haque served as the Principal of the Bangladesh Police Academy and Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. He was appointed Inspector General of Police in 1991.
He also served as a member of the Law Commission from 2004 to 2007.
Enamul Haque is survived by his wife, academic and writer Anamika Haque Lily, one daughter, Aditi Titas Haque, and two sons, Ashim Shaital Haque and Aneek R Haque.
