A Dhaka court today (13 August) granted actress Tanjin Tisha bail after she surrendered before it in a case filed over allegations of fraud and breach of trust related to an online fashion business.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana passed the order after a hearing this morning, said Tisha's lawyers, Iltutmish Sagar Aini and Nihar Hossain Faruk.
Earlier, on 12 July, the same court had ordered Tisha to appear before it.
According to case details, Tisha received a saree worth Tk28,800 from online fashion page "Aponia" after promising to promote the product and pay its price. However, she later allegedly cut off communication without fulfilling either commitment.
The case was filed by Aminul Islam, administrator of the online fashion page, accusing the actress of fraud and criminal breach of trust.
At the time, the court recorded the complainant's statement and directed the Detective Branch (DB) of police to investigate the allegations and submit a report.
Recently, police submitted the report stating that they had found preliminary evidence supporting the allegations against Tisha.
The court subsequently took the report into cognisance and issued the summons against the actress.
