PM may reshuffle cabinet over poor performance

Prime Minister's Information Adviser Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman on Tuesday said the Prime Minister may reshuffle the cabinet or advisory council if anyone fails to perform, describing it as a normal process.

He made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists during a media briefing at the Secretariat.

Zahed Ur Rahman said the Prime Minister had formed the cabinet and, based on his understanding from discussions with him, changes or redistribution of portfolios could be made if it is felt that someone is not performing satisfactorily.

He said the government's main objective is to ensure the welfare of the people.

However, he said it is not possible to say at this stage whether any decision on reorganisation or redistribution of responsibilities will be based on the 180-day performance.

Speaking about cyberbullying, the adviser said many innocent and respectable people are being humiliated through the spread of false information, misinformation and fake videos.

He said the government is determined to prevent such incidents and has taken the initiative to form a panel of lawyers and experts.

On the law and order situation, Zahed Ur Rahman said the Ministry of Home Affairs is efficiently managing the situation.

He added that while the government's activities can be criticised, any activity that violates the law is not acceptable.
