The government has fixed the minimum cost of performing Hajj under government management at Tk5,05,648 for 2027, while the minimum package through private agencies has been set at Tk5,13,648.
Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad announced the Hajj packages and registration schedule at a press conference at the Secretariat today (21 July).
The minister said two packages would be available under government management. Hajj Package-1 has been priced at Tk6,15,263, while the more affordable Hajj Package-2 has been fixed at Tk5,05,648.
The general Hajj package through private agencies has been set at Tk5,13,648.
He said the government had taken steps to make Hajj management more affordable and efficient following Hajj 2026 through continued coordination with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
According to the minister, the Saudi authorities have introduced changes to improve accommodation, transport, catering and other services for pilgrims.
For Hajj 2027, the number of Mina-Arafat service packages has been reduced from four to three with the removal of Category D.
Airfare reduced
The minister said the reduction in airfare played a major role in lowering the overall Hajj package cost.
Airfare for Hajj 2027 has been fixed at Tk1,53,000, down by Tk14,830 from the previous year.
He said the airfare had been nearly Tk2 lakh in 2023 and Tk1,67,820 in 2025.
Government packages
Under Hajj Package-1, pilgrims will stay within 1,000 to 1,400 metres of the outer courtyard of Haram Sharif and in the Markazia area of Madinah.
Accommodation in Mina will be in Zone-2, while meals will be provided under Mina-Arafat Service Package-3.
Pilgrims may also upgrade rooms or choose a shorter package by paying additional charges.
Under Hajj Package-2, accommodation will be within two to three kilometres of Haram Sharif and within 800 metres of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.
Pilgrims will stay in Mina Zone-5 and receive meals under Service Package-3. Bus services will be available around the clock if accommodation is more than two kilometres from Haram Sharif.
Private package
Under the general private package, accommodation will be within three kilometres of Haram Sharif and within one kilometre of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, with a maximum of six pilgrims sharing a room.
Accommodation in Mina will be in Zone-5 and meals will be provided under Service Package-3.
Agencies must provide bus services if hotels are more than two kilometres from Haram Sharif.
The minister said registered Hajj agencies must follow the government-approved general package.
They may introduce up to three additional premium packages with extra facilities, but none can offer services below those included in Government Package-2.
Packages must include interpreter services, sacrificial offerings (Adahi) and catering costs. Pilgrims will not be able to register in the e-Hajj system without selecting a package.
Registration schedule
Hajj registration will continue until 24 September 2026. Pilgrims can complete primary registration by selecting a package in the e-Hajj system and depositing Tk3 lakh, while final registration will require payment of the full package cost.
Passports must remain valid until 31 December 2027. Hajj flights are scheduled to begin on 8 April 2027, while the pilgrimage is expected to take place on 15 May.
The minister also said expatriate Bangladeshis will be able to complete medical examinations and vaccinations in their countries of residence before applying for Hajj visas, removing the previous requirement to travel to Bangladesh for these formalities.
The government is also working to allow them to travel directly to Saudi Arabia from their countries of residence.
