Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman left Dhaka on Sunday for a five-day official visit to Turkiye at the invitation of the Turkish government, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
During the visit, the army chief will tour several Turkish defence industry facilities to gain firsthand knowledge of the country's defence capabilities, military technology and defence production.
He is also scheduled to hold courtesy meetings with senior officials of the Turkish armed forces and defence sector to further strengthen defence cooperation between Bangladesh and Türkiye.
The visit is expected to include discussions on expanding bilateral cooperation in military training, technology exchange and the defence industry, according to the ISPR.
