The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Tuesday cancelled the candidacy of BNP's Aslam Chowdhury, who was unofficially declared the winner in Chattogram-4 during the 13th national election.
A bench of the Appellate Division, headed by Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury, delivered the verdict.
Lawyers Miftah Uddin Chowdhury and AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon represented Aslam at the court hearing.
Aslam Chowdhury's nomination papers had been declared valid by the Election Commission on January 18.
