Seven deputy attorneys general and ten assistant attorneys general who are aligned with Jamaat-e-Islami have resigned from their posts.
They submitted their resignation letters together at the Office of the Attorney General on Monday (22 June).
Deputy Attorney General Tarikul Islam, one of the officials who resigned, confirmed the matter on Tuesday.
The deputy attorneys general who resigned are Yusuf Ali, Shafiqul Rahman, Abdul Karim, Farid Uddin Khan, Golam Rahman Bhuiyan, Asad Uddin and Tarikul Islam.
The assistant attorneys general are Imrul Kayes Rana, Humayun Kabir Tanim, Abdul Kayum Bhuiyan, Abdullahil Maruf Fahim, Jowadur Rahman, Shamsil Arefin, Mahabuba Akter Roly, Nur Nabi Ujjwal, Al Reza Amir and Rezaul Islam.
