Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has begun a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the latter’s office in Putrajaya on Monday morning (local time).
Tarique arrived in Kuala Lumpur at 8:35pm on Sunday to attend the meeting. He was accompanied by his wife, Zubaida Rahman.
Tarique was accorded a red-carpet reception upon his arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The national anthems of Bangladesh and Malaysia were played during a guard of honour presented by a ceremonial contingent.
Malaysia’s Religious Affairs Minister Zulkifli Hasan and his wife welcomed Tarique at the VVIP terminal of Kuala Lumpur airport. A young child presented flowers to Zubaida.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury and Deputy High Commissioner Sahanara Monica were also present at the airport.
