Seven children die from measles, symptoms in 24 hours

One child died from measles and six others from related symptoms in the 24 hours till Thursday morning, taking the total death toll near 440 in just about two months.

During 8am Wednesday-8am Thursday, 155 people were diagnosed with measles and 1,363 others with measles-like symptoms.

The death from confirmed measles case was reported in Dhaka division. Due to symptoms, four deaths were reported in Dhaka division, one in Chattogram division and one in Mymensingh division.

Since 15 March, 70 children have died from confirmed measles infection and 369 others from symptoms.

Since 15 March, 54,419 people have been diagnosed with measles symptoms, among whom 39,160 children were hospitalised. Among the hospitalised patients, 34,968 recovered and returned home.

Since 15 March, 7,305 people have been diagnosed with confirmed measles cases.
