The government has fixed the prices of salt-applied rawhides of sacrificial animals ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, raising cowhide rates by Tk2 per square foot compared to the previous year.
Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir announced the prices at a press briefing held at the ministry in Dhaka on Wednesday.
According to the new rates, salt-applied cowhide prices in Dhaka have been fixed at Tk62-Tk67 per square foot, while outside the capital, the rates have been set at Tk57-Tk62 per square foot.
The prices of goat hides have been fixed at Tk25-Tk30 per square foot across the country, while she-goat hides will be sold at Tk22-Tk25 per square foot.
