Two people were killed and at least four others injured in a road accident at Kushtia's Mirpur upazila on Friday morning.
The accident happened around 9:00 AM at Ranakhoria area under Talbaria union in the upazila.
One of the dead has been identified as Tania Begum, 32, wife of Jahangir Alam, a resident of Arpara village under Islamic University Police Station.
Kushtia Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Syed AL Mamun said that a sand-laden Pabna bound speedy truck hit a CNG-run-auto-rickshaw carrying passenger coming from the opposite direction. Two persons including Tania died on the spot and four others were injured.
A team of police, on information, recovered the bodies and sent those to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
