Md Mostakur Rahman has been appointed as the new Governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB).
The appointment was confirmed through a gazette notification issued on Wednesday by the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance.
The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Abraoul Hasan Majumder, stated that Mostakur Rahman has been appointed for a term of four years from the date of his joining, subject to relinquishing all professional ties with other institutions and organizations.
According to the notification, during his tenure as governor, he will receive salary, allowances and other benefits from Bangladesh Bank in accordance with the terms of the contract signed with the government.
Other conditions of his appointment will be determined by the contract agreement. The order, issued in the public interest, takes immediate effect.
