BNP leader gunned down in Pabna's Ishwardi in broad daylight

A BNP leader was shot dead by his own cousin in Pabna's Ishwardi on Wednesday morning.

Deceased Biru Mollah, 60, was the party convenor of Laxmikunda Union.

The incident happened around 9:30AM at Kamalpur village.

According to local residence, a long standing quarrel had been at loggerhead between Biru Mollah and his cousin Johurul Islam Mollah over cutting soil in a land near Padmar Char. A scuffle took place between the two brothers on Wednesday morning while talking about the issue. At one stage, Johurul opened fire on Biru, leaving him critically injured.

He was taken to Upazila Health Complex where he was declared dead by the on-duty physicians.
