Renowned journalist-turned-actor Hasan Masood has been hospitalised after falling seriously ill. He was admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka's Mohakhali area on Monday (October 27) night following severe headaches and seizures.

According to hospital sources, after conducting preliminary tests, doctors advised immediate admission. Hasan Masood is currently receiving treatment at the Stroke Unit of Universal Medical College Hospital in Mohakhali.

Dr Ashis Kumar Chakraborty, Managing Director of the hospital, told that, "Hasan Masood has suffered an ischemic stroke along with a mild heart attack. He is now under the care of neurologists, cardiologists, and the critical care unit. Such patients are generally kept under observation for 48 to 72 hours before determining the next course of treatment."

Once a familiar face on television dramas and films, Hasan Masood gradually withdrew from the entertainment industry. Recently, he drew public attention after commenting on actress Hania Aamir, later announcing that he no longer intends to return to acting and instead wishes to pursue a regular job.

In a recent interview before falling ill, the actor said, "I'm currently looking for a job. Once I find one—whatever the field may be, journalism or administration—I'll take it. I want to disappear completely."

A former journalist himself, Hasan Masood also hinted at returning to his old profession, saying, "I do want to return to journalism if I get a good offer."

Hasan Masood joined the Bangladesh Army in 1985 and retired in 1992 as a captain. He later began working as a sports journalist and served at BBC Bangla from February 2004 to 2008.

After leaving journalism, he entered the entertainment industry with Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's "Bachelor", followed by "Made in Bangladesh". He also appeared in several popular television dramas, including "Houseful", "Taxi Driver", "FDC", "Bou", "Khunsuti", "Graduate", "Ronger Duniya", "Amader Songsar", "Goni Saheber Shesh Kichudin", "Batasher Ghor", and "Probati Shobuj Songho".
