Former lawmaker from Jamalpur constituency and chairman of Citizen Cables Limited Begum Tahura Ali passed away early Thursday at a hospital in the capital.
She breathed her last around 6:11AM while undergoing treatment at United Hospital, family sources confirmed.
She is survived by one son and three daughters, including renowned actress and singer Meher Afroz Shaon, her eldest daughter.
Tahura Ali served as a reserved seat MP from Jamalpur for two consecutive terms — from 1996 to 2001 and from 2009 to 2014.
