Four people were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and an auto-rickshaw in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj on Saturday.
According to the Police, one person died on the spot, while three others succumbed to their injuries later at the hospital.
The identities of the victims could not be confirmed immediately.
The victims, hailed from Madaripur district, were reportedly on their way to attend a wedding in Majhigati of Kashiani Upazila.
Sergeant Md Russell Mia of Bhanga Highway Police said the crash occurred when a passenger bus of Imad Paribahan collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction around 12pm on Saturday in Majhigati bus stand area on the Dhaka–Khulna highway.
He said that the condition of the three injured remains critical. They are undergoing treatment at Gopalganj General Hospital and Kashiani Upazila Hospital, he added.
