Miscreants attempted an act of sabotage by wrapping and locking chains around the railway tracks at Naldanga in Natore.

The incident occurred around 11 PM on Sunday (August 3) in the Palashitola area near Madhnagar Railway Station.

According to police and local sources, around 11 PM, locals noticed chains locked around the railway tracks on the southern side of Madhnagar Railway Station. The locals then informed Naldanga Police Station and railway authorities about the matter.

Later, police arrived at the scene and, with the help of railway workers, cut the chains and ensured the railway line was safe.

When contacted, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naldanga Police Station, Md. Rafiqul Islam, said that upon receiving the news, police immediately went to the spot. Later, railway mechanics were brought in to cut the chains.

He said, “Whoever did this had malicious intent—aiming to cause harm to life and property. Police have already started working to identify those involved in the incident.”
