National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam said, "We will not let Bangladesh continue under the old system and old laws. After the coup, various forces are trying to take the country forward. We want to start the journey of a new Bangladesh through justice, reform and a new constitution."

He said these things at a road meeting at the end of the July road march in Moulvibazar's Berirpar on Saturday afternoon (July 26, 2025) to build the country with 4-point demands, including the July Charter, reforms, justice and election roadmap; publishing the July declaration within the promised time and restructuring the Election Commission before the national elections and holding local government elections.

Nahid Islam said, "There is an attempt to dominate the police killings and blame the students and the people who are in the uprising. We made it clear on August 3 that our fight is against Sheikh Hasina's fascist regime, which later turned into an uprising. We were forced to resist the oppression that was inflicted on us. Our fight was against the fascist state and fascist forces."

Earlier, the July march to build the country started from the town's Shaheed Minar. The march took place on Court Road and Shah Mustafa Road in the town. Thousands of people from all walks of life joined it.

The meeting was chaired by Moulvibazar District Chief Coordinator Fahad Alam and was also addressed by NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain and Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwari. Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr. Tasnim Zara, Central Joint Member Secretary Pritom Das, Central Convener of Bangladesh Democratic Students' Union (BAGCHAS) Abu Baker Majumder, Central Organizer of National Youth Power Maruf Al Hamid, and Zakaria Emon were also present.

NCP's exchange of views in Sreemangal

The National Citizens Party (NCP) held a meeting in Sreemangal with four demands, including the July Charter, reforms, justice and election roadmap; publishing the July manifesto within the promised time frame, and reconstituting the Election Commission before the national elections and holding local government elections.

The National Citizens Party (NCP) is holding a discussion meeting in Sreemangal today, Saturday (July 26, 2025) at 2:30 pm.

Later, at around 2 pm, a view exchange meeting was held at the Mohsin Auditorium in the district's Sreemangal Upazila town in the presence of central leaders. After the view exchange meeting in Sreemangal, the district's padayatra program was completed.

National Citizens Party (NCC)'s perspective-

Regarding the vision of the National Citizens Party (NCC), the leaders said, 1. One of the main foundations of the Bangladesh state is the Liberation War. The NCP's path is based on the ideals of equality, justice and human dignity of the Liberation War and the aspirations of the 1924 mass uprising for a non-discriminatory and democratic state system. In addition, we accept the continuity of the anti-colonial struggle of Bengal's Hindu-Muslim-Dalits as a political and historical foundation.

2. The NCP will build a non-discriminatory, fair and corruption-free socio-economic system, which will be similar to a welfare state. Education, public health, agriculture and climate, urban management, labor rights and employment will be the main policy areas of the NCP. The NCP has a vision of creating a new economic zone centered on Bangladesh in the Bay of Bengal region.

National Citizens Party (NCP) demands -

At the exchange of views, the National Citizens Party (NCP) presented their following demands:

1. The roadmap for July charter, reform, justice, and elections must be given together.
2. The July announcement must be published within the promised time.
3. The Election Commission should be reconstituted and local government elections should be held before the national elections.
4. The two student advisors of the interim government are in the government as representatives of the mass uprising and have no connection with the NCP. We strongly condemn the propaganda being spread involving the NCP.

Why join NCP?

Citing the relevance of why they should join the Jatiya Nagorik Party, the leaders said that the Jatiya Nagorik Party is a party of the July 24 movement.
Team to ensure justice for the July 24 genocide.
Working on a new future for Bangladesh.
To create a country free from corruption and extortion.

Where parties will be formed not through power, but through the power of the people.
Team members can be boys or girls.

Ehsan Zakaria, joint coordinator of the NCP Moulvibazar District Coordination Committee, said, "I would like to congratulate and thank everyone for making this road meeting and exchange of views a success on the occasion of the July Padyatra to build the country."

He said, "We started the July march from Berirpar Point in Moulvibazar at around 11 am, passed through Kusumbagh, Central Road, Chaumuhana Point, Court Road, Shah Mostafa Road in the city, and returned to Berirpar Point to participate in the road meeting."
