Mob culture is creating fear and panic among people, said BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. He said that if someone commits a crime, he should be handed over to the law enforcement agencies; one should not take the law into one's own hands.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at the inauguration of the district BNP's new member recruitment and renewal program at the Saifur Rahman Auditorium in Moulvibazar on Thursday (July 24, 2025) afternoon.
He said, BNP is working across the country to renew 10 million members and collect primary members. He directed that only honest, qualified and reputable people in the society be included in the party. The party's doors will be open to people of all classes and professions, including farmers, workers, teachers, doctors, intellectuals.
At this time, Rizvi questioned the role of the police, citing the attack on NCP leaders in Gopalganj.
He said, "The police have arrested the BNP leaders from the place where they had taken shelter during the movement. Where are those police now? Their qualifications are questionable today."
Rizvi also said, "There should be one thing in the constitution - those who become commissioners must be assured of their impartiality. They should perform their duties with the fear of Allah, and not be guided by party or personal ideology."
We have to move forward keeping these things in mind. Otherwise, we will fall behind again and the anti-democratic cycle may rise again through various means.
District BNP convener Faizul Karim Mayun presided over the event, and BNP treasurer M Rashiduzzaman Millat was the main speaker, moderated by member secretary Abdur Rahim Ripon.
BNP Organizing Secretary G. K. Gaus, Co-Organizing Secretary Miftah Siddiqui, Executive Committee Member M Naser Rahman and JASAS Executive Committee Member Syed Ashraful Majid Khokon delivered speeches as special guests.
