National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam on Friday said the party is preparing for a bigger struggle in the near-future to root out "fascist policies" in state affairs and other areas.
The NCP chief called on the general people to seek the Almighty's mercy through prayers for rebuilding the "beloved Bangladesh," as he spoke at a roadside rally in Munshiganj ahead of the Friday prayers.
The police and army maintained a strong presence near the rally, in the wake of violent attacks by Awami League activists on an NCP programme in Gopalganj two days earlier.
NCP is anticipating more such attacks on party members, but it will not stop until "pro-fascist policies" are removed, Nahid asserted at Friday's rally.
"We will not stop until the fight that we started with the uprising against 'Mujibism' meets success through the ouster of fascism," he said.
