Law Adviser Asif Nazrul on Monday said he is confident that the cases filed over July uprising killings can be disposed of during the tenure of the interim government, given the swift progress of trial procedures.
“With a determined voice, I want to tell the injured participants of the uprising and the martyrs’ families that justice will be delivered in the current government’s tenure,” he said after inaugurating the country’s first July memorial at Hajiganj, Narayanganj.
The police have assured him of filing charge sheets in many of the relevant cases by 5 August, the first anniversary of the fall of Awami League fascist rule, he said, adding authorities would subsequently try the culprits under “Speedy Trial Act.”
He has urged the police to file charge sheets in all the cases swiftly, the law adviser claimed.
