253mm rainfall recorded in Feni in 24hrs, shops collapse

Feni witnessed the highest 253mm rainfall in a day. This is the highest rainfall of this season.

Md Mojibur Rahman, acting officer of District Meteorological Office, confirmed this at 10AM on Tuesday (July 8).

Heavy rainfall is continuing for two days in the district. Till 9AM on Tuesday, 253 mm rains has been recorded. And the rain may continue for two-three more days.

Meanwhile, due to heavy rain, the Muhuri River embankment breached at Sreepur road of Fulgazi. Several shops collapsed.

Water-logging created at different places of the city, inlcuding Dakterpara, old registry office, Rampur, Pathanbari.

"Muhuri river water is flowing under danger level. We are alert to protect embankment breach," said Feni Water Development Board sub-divisional engineer Md Abul Kashem.
