A man and his two sons were killed and three others were injured when a microbus hit the back of a truck parked in Tangail's Basail upazila.
The accident occurred on Tuesday (June 3) morning in Karatipara bypass area on the Dhaka-Tangail highway.
The dead were Amjad Mandal, 65, and his two sons, Atul Mondal, 13, and Rahat Mondal, 26, of Kamar Char area of Sherpur. In addition, three others, including the wife of dead Amjad Hossain, were injured.
Gorai Highway Police Station OC Mohammad Jasim Uddin confirmed the news.
He said that a microbus that left Dhaka in the morning was heading towards North Bengal. When the vehicle reached Karatipara bypass area of the highway, it lost control and hit a truck standing on the highway from behind. As a result, the microbus passenger Amjad Mandal and his two sons died on the spot. In addition, three others, including Amjad Mandal's wife, were injured. Later, the injured were rescued and sent to Tangail General Hospital.
