Two individuals have been arrested along with 20 cannabis plants during a raid conducted by the army in Mujibnagar, Meherpur. The operation took place late Friday night (09 May) in the Daryapur village of Mujibnagar upazila.
The detainees have been identified as Saddam Hossain (33) and his farm employee Delowar Hossain (33).
According to army sources, the raid was carried out based on confidential intelligence by a team led by Lieutenant Minhaj of the 27 Artillery Regiment. During the operation, 20 cannabis plants, various cannabis-smoking equipment, Tk 50,000 in cash, and a passport were seized from Saddam Hossain's cattle farm.
Following initial interrogation, the two were handed over to Mujibnagar Police Station. A case under the Narcotics Control Act is currently under process.
