Goalandghat Police Station in Rajbari district has arrested three political leaders in a special operation in the anti-discrimination student movement case.
The arrested persons are: Md. Ziaur Rahman (45), son of Md. Abdus Samad Sheikh of Daulat Diyar Nuru Mandal Para in Goalanda Upazila of Rajbari, is the co-editor of the Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, Goalanda Upazila branch. Md. Sonai Mia (50), son of Md. Mrityu Danesh Sheikh of Saher Mandal Para in Ujanchar Union of Goalanda Upazila of Rajbari district, is the general secretary of the Bangladesh Krishak League, Ujanchar UP branch. Md. Samaser Ali (36), son of Adu Sheikh of Saher Mandal Para in Ujanchar Union of Goalanda Upazila of Rajbari district, is an active member of the Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, Goalanda Upazila branch.
Goalanda Ghat Police Station OC Mohammad Rakibul Islam said that student Shariful Islam filed a case as the plaintiff in the attack on students at the Goalanda Railgate on August 4 during the student movement. The case has named 59 people and 300 to 400 unidentified people. They were arrested in this case and sent to the Rajbari learned court on Thursday afternoon.
