Goalanda Ghat Police Station has arrested two drug peddlers, including 52 Purias and 20 Purias, from Daulatdia Launchghat area of Goalanda Upazila in Rajbari, along with heroin.
The arrested are Md. Shimul Ahmed (29), son of Md. Mosharraf Hossain of Kalagaria village under Shibaloy police station in Manikganj district, and Almas Sikder (40), son of the late Akbar Sikder of Dhopakhali village in Khankhanapur union of Rajbari Sadar upazila, another drug dealer.
According to police sources, on Tuesday, April 15, at around 3 pm, on receiving a tip-off, Shimul Ahmed (29) was arrested with 52 grams of heroin from in front of Md. Uzir Pramanik's shop at Daulatdia Launch Ghat and on Wednesday, April 16, at around 12 pm, he was arrested with 20 grams of heroin from in front of Julhas Molla's cosmetics shop at Chairman's Street in Daulatdia Bazar.
In this regard, Goalanda Ghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Rakibul Islam said that after filing a case under the Narcotics Control Act against the arrested accused, they were sent to the Rajbari learned court on Wednesday.
