President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has accepted Ishraque Hossain’s resignation as state minister for liberation war affairs, the Cabinet Division said in a gazette notification on Tuesday.
Ishraque, MP for Dhaka-6, announced his resignation at a press conference at the National Press Club on Monday (10 October).
He submitted his written resignation on Monday evening, which was forwarded to the President through Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Cabinet Division sources said.
The President accepted the resignation before the Cabinet Division issued the notification on Tuesday.
The cabinet now has 50 members, including 27 full ministers, including the Prime Minister, and 23 state ministers.
