A fire broke out at the pharmaceutical factory of Drug International Limited in Cherag Ali area of Tongi, Gazipur, on Wednesday morning.
The fire started around 10am on Wednesday, prompting the deployment of 10 fire service units to bring it under control.
Three units initially responded to the scene under the leadership of Senior Station Officer Shahin Alam. The number of units was gradually increased due to the intensity of the fire.
Talha Bin Jasim, an official of the Media Cell of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Directorate, confirmed that 10 units, including three from Tongi Fire Service, were working to control the blaze.
The cause of the fire and how it started remain unknown.
