
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday inaugurated the Muhuri-Kohua Irrigation and Flood Control Project in Parshuram upazila of Feni.
He arrived at the Kheyaghat Muhuri Bridge area in Parshuram around 2:30pm and unveiled the project plaque. After the inauguration, the prime minister planted a sapling and inaugurated river re-excavation work in the area.
The prime minister reached the venue by road from Dhaka. Feni-1 constituency lawmaker Rafiqul Alam Maznu welcomed him with flowers upon his arrival.
Feni-2 lawmaker VP Joynal Abedin, Feni-3 lawmaker and Environment Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo, Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, State Minister for Water Resources Forhad Hossain Azad, Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher, State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin and reserved women’s seat lawmaker Rehana Akter Ranu were present at the programme, among others.
Local and central political leaders also attended the inauguration ceremony.
