As businesses and content creation increasingly move to social media, users are facing a growing number of digital challenges, including account security, monetisation and verification. Private organisation Cyber RedForce Bangladesh provides paid services to help individuals and businesses deal with such issues.Founded on June 23, 2021, the organisation works on account security and digital problems across platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
Cyber RedForce Bangladesh CEO Jahangir Alam Swapan said the organisation currently has a 22-member team providing digital security and account management services to individuals, businesses, media personalities and brands.
Swapan said his interest in cybersecurity began in 2013 after his own Facebook account was disabled. After failing to recover it despite seeking help from others, he began researching the issue himself and eventually regained access to the account.
In 2016, he joined BD Anonymous Team, where he gained experience in various technical and cybersecurity-related projects. He later decided to establish his own IT and cybersecurity organisation, leading to the launch of Cyber RedForce Bangladesh in 2021.
Monetisation and verification services in high demandThe organisation provides solutions to various digital problems on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. According to Swapan, Facebook account and page monetisation and verification services are currently among the most sought-after.
He said the growing dependence of businesses on Facebook has increased demand for solutions to problems involving business pages. Content creators also seek help with monetisation-related issues.
Some college and university students also approach the organisation over hacking and blackmail-related problems, he added.
Focus on cybersecurity awarenessSwapan advised users to avoid downloading apps from unknown sources and clicking on unfamiliar links to reduce cybersecurity risks. He also urged people to be cautious when sharing personal photos and videos online.
According to him, Bangladesh still faces several challenges in cybersecurity despite the rapid growth of digital technology. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts involving the government, private sector and cybersecurity professionals, as well as greater use of skilled personnel in the sector.
Cyber RedForce Bangladesh plans to strengthen cybersecurity in the country through developing skilled professionals, raising public awareness, conducting research and improving technological capabilities.
“We never support any form of cyberattack or illegal activity. Our goal is to strengthen defensive cybersecurity, identify risks and ensure effective protection against potential threats,” Swapan said.
