Asif named NCP mayor candidate for Dhaka North, Patwary for South

The National Citizen Party (NCP) has nominated Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan as its mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation and Nasiruddin Patwary for Dhaka South City Corporation in the upcoming city elections.

NCP Convener and opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam announced the nominations today (13 September) at a coordination meeting with potential councillor candidates from wards across the two city corporations.

The meeting focused on selecting prospective councillor candidates, identifying civic problems at ward level and taking effective measures to address them.

Party leaders also discussed maintaining regular communication with the families of those killed or injured during the July mass uprising.

Nahid Islam instructed party leaders to remain vigilant against alleged sabotage activities by the Awami League, whose activities are currently banned.

NCP Dhaka South and North city unit conveners Ishaq Sarkar and Ariful Islam Adib, along with leaders from different levels of the party, attended the meeting.
