Two-Day Workshop Begins to Strengthen Joypurhat Red Crescent Unit

A two-day workshop aimed at strengthening the organizational capacity of the Joypurhat Red Crescent Unit began on Wednesday at the conference room of the Joypurhat District Council office.

Masud Rana Prodhan, administrator of the Joypurhat District Council and chairman of the Joypurhat Red Crescent Unit, inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest.

In his opening remarks, Prodhan said the Branch Organizational Capacity to Act (BOCA) tool would help strengthen the organizational capacity of units of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS). He expressed hope that the initiative would enable stakeholders to work together to build a stronger and more effective Joypurhat Red Crescent Unit.

The workshop was organized in coordination with the Planning and Development Department of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society.

Among those attending were Golzar Hossain, convener of the Joypurhat district BNP; Abdul Wahab, joint convener of the district BNP; Matiyor Rahman, vice-chairman of the Joypurhat Red Crescent Unit; and A. H. M. Obaidur Rahman Sweet, secretary of the unit.

Also present were Mahfuza Akter, assistant director of the BDRCS Planning and Development Department; Bibi Mariam, an official from the Fundraising Department; and Mohammad Khaled, a communication officer from the International Relations and Communication Department.
