
The chiefs of the three armed forces paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at Bangabhaban today (25 August), with the head of state assuring them of his continued support.
During the meeting, army chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman, navy chief Admiral Khondkar Misbah ul Azim and Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan congratulated the president and extended their best wishes following his assumption of office.
They briefed him on the activities of their respective forces and sought his guidance and cooperation, as the supreme commander of the armed forces, in discharging their duties.
President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed satisfaction with the activities of the services and said the government is working to transform them into modern, four-dimensional forces.
The president assured the three chiefs that he will continue to extend his fullest cooperation towards the overall development of the Armed Forces Division, alongside enhancing the professional capabilities of their personnel, during his tenure.
