US-Bangladesh Business Council Delegation Meets Prime Minister

A 50-member delegation of the US-Bangladesh Business Council has met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The meeting is focusing on a range of issues of mutual interest, including ways to strengthen trade and investment between Bangladesh and the United States.

The meeting began at 9:30 am on Thursday (August 13) at the Prime Minister’s Office at the Secretariat.

According to sources, the high-level US delegation is being led by Oliver Simpson, Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Excelerate Energy, and Ambassador (Ret.) Atul Keshap, President of the US-Bangladesh Business Council and Senior Vice President for South Asia at the US Chamber of Commerce.

Following the meeting, representatives of the US-Bangladesh Business Council and a spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office are expected to jointly brief journalists.

During the briefing, they are expected to provide details of the discussions held during the meeting and outline future plans concerning bilateral trade, investment and other areas of mutual interest.
